With the rising cost of synthetic medications and the effects these medicines have on other vital organs when ingested, there is a growing popularity on the use of herbal or natural medicines.Maybe the useĀ  of herbs for curative purposes is most typical in Europe, where even the term “apothecary” is still employed in Germany. In the US, the employment of herbal drugs is also rising, as many folks now prefer them over chemically-produced prescribed drugs.

In truth, there’s now a growing community of medical doctors that permit and even suggest herbal drugs to their patients, either as a stand-alone cure or taken along with standard hospital treatment. You may also take herbal drugs on your own, while it is widely counseled that you first check with a physician before consuming any kind of medicine.

You also need to be conscious of the differing kinds of herbs and their general uses. Today a large amount of folk still partake of self-medication without being entirely aware about the correct use and dose of such drugs.

Because of some side effects resulting from taking prescription drugs, a lot of people are now turning to natural medicine.

By definition “natural medicine or naturopathy (also known as naturopathic medicine ) is an eclectic alternative medical system that focuses on natural remedies and the body’s vital ability to heal and maintain itself“; this is according to wikipedia. Natural medicine is the use of natural methods, herbal medicines, and traditional practices for healing ailments. Many believed that there are available natural remedies for almost all types of illness.

Natural medicine are categorized into three healing methods: traditional medicine, complementary medicine, and alternative medicine.

  • Traditional medicine (TM) refers to the knowledge, skills and practices based on the theories, beliefs and experiences indigenous to different cultures, used in the maintenance of health and in the prevention, diagnosis, improvement or treatment of physical and mental illness. • Complementary medicine is used to describe therapeutic techniques that are not part of conventional medicine (also called “regular,” “standard,” or “mainstream” medicine). Complementary therapies are used as a “complement” or addition to conventional medicine. Because complementary medicine can be combined or integrated with conventional medical treatment, it is also called “integrative medicine.” ( http:// www.breastcancer. org/treatment/comp_med/what_is_it/)
  • Alternative medicine, as used in the modern Western world, encompasses any healing practice “that does not fall within the realm of conventional medicine”. Commonly cited examples include naturopathy, chiropractic, herbalism, traditional Chinese medicine, Unani, Ayurveda, meditation, yoga, biofeedback, hypnosis, homeopathy, acupuncture, and diet-based therapies, in addition to a range of other practices.
